The winner of the competition, entitled ‘Get In The Driving Seat’, will help to spread the message of driver safety by touring the country and visiting a selection of schools, colleges and apprentice centres and working closely with members of the charity’s 202 local groups.
The Younger Driver Ambassador will also challenge those in authority about their commitment to reducing the numbers of those killed and injured on the roads and work towards decreasing the number of fatalities.
As well as a full salary, company car and additional driving support, the role will act as a potential springboard for future employment opportunities.
How do I apply to become the next Younger Driver Ambassador?
To be in with a chance of winning the role of Young Driver Ambassador, IAM RoadSmart would like applicants to submit a 500 word essay, explaining why they feel they should be the charity’s next Younger Driver Ambassador. To support the essay, applicants have the option of submitting a supporting video, no longer than two minutes in length. All entries must be submitted by June 9th, 2017.
Competition finalists will be invited to the IAM RoadSmart headquarters in Hertfordshire, where they will have the opportunity to appear before an expert judging panel and further discuss their reasons for why they think they should be the next Younger Driver Ambassador.
Who is on the Judging Panel?
The judging panel will feature former Formula 1 World Champion and IAM RoadSmart President Nigel Mansell CBE, IAM RoadSmart Chief Executive Officer Sarah Sillars OBE, Founder of First Car Magazine James Evans and IAM RoadSmart Regional Service Delivery Team Manager Shaun Cronin.
