Now in stock with us at RFH Classics we are pleased to bring you this beautiful ðŸðŸ—ðŸðŸ— ð€ð®ð¬ðð¢ð§ ðŒð¢ð§ð¢ ðð¨ð¨ð©ðžð ð finished in Island Blue with a Snowberry White contrasting roof. This low ownership car was built on the 11th March 1969, and dispatched to Thompson & Reid, main Austin Morris dealers of Belfast on the 5th April 1969. The first owner subsequently took delivery of this very special Cooper S on the 1st July 1969. , The car has gone on to have a couple of further owners including Ken Colbert of Dungannon. Mr Colbert was a renowned Mini Restorer and well known Rally Driver and it was under his ownership the car was the subject of an extensive restoration during which particular attention was taken to keep the car true to the factory original specifications, as highlighted by the pictures shown today. , The bodywork is exceptional, highlighting the incredibly high quality of restoration undertaken, in addition the bright work and chrome is equally as good and done correctly to factory specification. Under the bonnet has not been treated to any less of a exceptional restoration with no signs of any oil, fluid or coolant leaks from the 1275cc lead free engine that is paired to a 4 speed manual gearbox and readily fires into life at the turn of the key. This Cooper S, as the pictures illustrate, is fitted with the twin filler necks for the two fuel tanks fitted. , In the office we have an extensive history file that accompanies this 1969 Austin Cooper S which contains a large number of invoices for work undertaken as well as a large number of previous MOT tests, An original Green card Log Book as well as a Owners Handbook. Also included in this file is a detailed independent valuation and condition report done in 2021 where the whole vehicle was given a thorough evaluation and inspection. , The MkII Austin Mini Cooper S 1275cc, produced from 1967 to 1970, was the second generation of the high performance. Retaining the legendary ðŸðŸðŸ•ðŸðœðœ ð€-ððžðð¢ðžð¬ ðžð§ð ð¢ð§ðž, the MkII introduced several refinements to the Mini including the redesigned grille, larger rear window and updated badging. Mechanically the 1275cc still featured twin SU carburettors and now featured front disc brakes and uprated suspension ensuring its reputation as a nimble and spirited performer. The MkII Cooper S, like the MKI, still remained a dominant force in the motorsport world. , RFH Classics are proud to be Bedfordshires largest independent classic car dealer with over 35 years of experience in supplying high quality vehicles that you can buy with confidence.
