I don’t want to sell it, don’t particularly need to but I want to finish my family camper project and I can’t have it all. 1998 ‘R’, BMW E36 323i Convertible, 2. 5 straight six, 5 Speed manual, 65, 000 miles only, Ex Jersey car, 2 UK owners, 2 sets of keys, Not full but good bit of history to warrant the miles inc original service book and paperwork from Jersey, including import documents. Rare Orient blue metallic, Recent new blue roof, MOT October 24, Nice spec-, Fully auto roof (working nicely), Grey leather sports seats, Reverse sensors (working nicely), M Sport steering wheel, Trip computer all working nicely, Since owning it I’ve done loads of little details, including 60 quids worth of genuine 323i badge (£30 for the ‘323’, £30 for the ‘i’…), new weighted gear knob, new seals around the door handles, painted the grille, rebuilt the door cards, fitted a Bluetooth Blaupunkt radio, and sourced a nice set of 16†genuine BMW style 32 alloys with Pirelli tyres. I’ve also got 3x sets of M Sport twin blade wheels and the original 15†wheels, all available by separate negotiation. Drives perfectly. Pulls very well. Sounds lovely. Bodywork is great for the year. It’s not one million percent perfect, there’s a few small age related marks here and there to the paint, but none of it looks wrong, and I’d say I’m a fusspot. There’s absolutely no rust or bubbling to any of the arches or sills or underneath, as these usually do. Interior is overall very smart, again some age related wear but far less than you are likely to see on most of these. Only bits I would highlight as negatives is a previous owner removed the air con system, so no pump or rad attached. Heater / climate all works as normal without the cold bit. Didn’t bother me on a cabrio. A previous keeper has fitted a non standard air filter, looks a bit daft but does sound good when giving it the beans so I’ve left it. Private plate PXI 998 is available by separate negation to the buyer for an additional £500, including the slightly iffy but attractive replica Jackson’s of Jersey number plates, which was the supplying dealer.
