2000 Land Rover Range Rover P38 2.5 DSE Automatic. Kent Green metallic with Lightstone leather upholstery. The Land Rover Range Rover (LP), generally shortened to Range Rover, is the second-generation Range Rover model from British car maker Land Rover. It was launched on 28 September 1994, 24 years after the introduction of the Range Rover Classic. It included an updated version of the Rover V8 engine, with the option of a 2.5-litre BMW six-cylinder turbo-diesel. The new model offered more equipment and premium trims, positioning the vehicle above the Land Rover Discovery to face the increased competition in the SUV marketplace. It is usually known as the Range Rover P38 or P38A outside of Land Rover, after the office building in which the vehicle development team was based. During the early development stages, the Engineering team was based in the Engineering Block at Solihull, and the vehicle was known by the project designations of Pegasus and Discovery, changing to P38A when the team moved to Block 38A at Solihull. The name Discovery was used temporarily as a cover to confuse journalists while the original Discovery vehicle was being developed. During production, Land Rover referred to it as either the New Range Rover or by its model designation of LP. This stunning Range Rover was supplied new on 22nd September 2000 by Pentland Land Rover of Edinburgh to Mr Seath in Cupar. Mr Seath owned the car for 3 years when it was then sold to Mr Sudlow of Morpeth with 46,000 miles. Mr Sudlow then kept the car until 2024 some 21 years and covered minimal mileage with the Range Rover having covered just 67,000 miles from new. It is a real credit to the last keeper who has maintained the car to an incredible level and is easiest the best P38 we have had the pleasure to offer. The history folder contains the original factory build sheet from the factory, the dealer wallet containing all of the owners handbooks and a fully stamped service book as well as lots of bills, invoices and old mot certificates. The condition speaks for itself and it totally original with a huge specification which includes factory satellite navigation. The paintwork presents beautifully and the leather upholstery showing minimal wear and the carpets showing no stains or deterioration, it even still retains its original dealer number plates, rear window sticker and key ring. The BMW diesel engine starts on demand and pulls very well mated to a smooth automatic gearbox, driving very well shod on matching Goodyear tyres, the air suspension working correctly and a dashboard with no warning lights. With the price of classic Range Rovers now soaring we see good P38 models now becoming scarce and starting to rise in value and now becoming welcome at classic car events. With a current mot through to October we will apply a brand new mot upon sale for your own peace of mind. In summary a very low mileage low owner P38 diesel that is now becoming very rare. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. All major debit and credit cards accepted. Part exchange considered. Delivery arranged. Please contact us for any further information.
