We are Delighted to offer This Special 2001/Y Mercedes Benz SL280 2.8 Designo Allanite R129 Automatic Finished in Designo Allanite Green Metallic with Java Cream Leather Interior with Burr Walnut wood trim.Only 50 examples of each model were produced, so this is a very rare and collectable Mercedes BenzThe Designo Alanite and Almandine Models are exclusive to the UK and are available in two six cylinder engines the 204hp 2.8 litre and the 224hp 3.2 litre engine. Only 50 of each model are built for the UK Market making these models highly exclusive. Both models will have special paint finishes in either Designo Alanite Green Metallic (Dark Green Metallic), or Designo Almandine black (Dark Purple Metallic) and feature designo leather and wood trim finishes. The Alanite Model has Java Leather and burr Walnut trim, and the almandine model is trimmed with two tone bordeaux and black leather and curly maple wood trim in anthracite. The Mercedes Benz R129 SL arrived in 1989, lauching the worlds best loved open top grand tourer into the 1990’s with style. The chrome and black rubber exterior that was synonymous with the previous generation was gone; in favour of a clean, angular design that has stood the test of time. The Bruno Sacco penned sillhouette looks as good today as it did when we first saw it in the last 1980’s. This New SL offered all of the luxury and panache that SL owners had become used to with a range of powerful engines, trim levels, and options, making them some of the most desirable and collectable of all the classic Mercedes Benz SL’s. To celebrate the heritage of the Mercedes Benz SL Range, and a final hurrah to the R129 in the final year of production, Mercedes Benz launched 3 Special Edition trim levels- The SL Designo Allanite, The SL Designo Almandine and the Silver Arrow. The Silver Arrow was only offered as a 5.0 Litre V8 SL500, where as the Designo cars were available as a SL280 or SL320. Finished in either Designo Allanite Green with Java Leather or Designo Almandine Purple with bordeaux Leather, the designo offered something rather special and in limited numbers with only 50 of each combination according to the Mercedes Benz press release. The car shown here is an SL280 Designo Allanite finished in Allanite Green Metallic with 6 Hole Lightweight two piece alloy wheels. The Designo edition was offered with light cream java leather interior with “Designo” Embroidery. Also featuring burr walnut wood trim, matching velour floor mats with leather lining. Included with the special edition designo were a variety of luxurious options including heated electric memory seats, rear passenger seats, panoramic glass sunroof, Becker mexico stereo with CD Player and of course the heritage Designo Badging.
