Here at RFH Classics, we are delighted to bring to market this stunning 1979 (V) MGB GT, a true British icon finished in the vibrant Pageant Blue. This GT is one we had last year and it has just arrived back with us in part exchange from one of our regular customers. The car comes complete with the original Grey Stripe Deck Chair Cloth seats and had been beautifully preserved complete with classic charm in abundance. This coupe has been lovingly owned by the last two keepers with the third owner having the car for close on 40 years. , The MGB GT remains as popular today as ever, embodying the very essence of classic motoring. Few examples can match the heritage and quality of this car, making it one of the finest on the market today. With its outstanding condition, this MGB GT has been elevated to collector status and represents a rare opportunity to own a cherished classic that would appeal to both seasoned collectors and passionate enthusiasts alike. , The radiant Blue paintwork, that was Ziebart-protected from new, maintains a deep lustre that is complemented by the addition of 15 Minilite Alloy Wheels with matching tyres all round. The iconic rubber bumpers remain in pristine condition, with their black colour enhancing the striking paintwork. Inside, those original Grey stripe covers have been impeccably preserved and adds to the car’s authenticity and original appeal. , Under the bonnet, the engine bay reflects the care this car has received over its lifetime with clear evidence of the Ziebart treatment received from new. The 1798cc 4 cylinder petrol engine is an Ivor Searle Unleaded replacement that was fitted less than 2,000 miles ago. We are lead to understand this was replaced to allow the car to run lead free. The 4-speed manual gearbox has the Overdrive on 3rd and 4th gears and the engine readily fires up with minimal choke when cold. The dials show excellent oil pressure at both cold and hot temperatures, as expected from such a meticulously cared-for vehicle. The history file is comprehensive, featuring MOT tests from 1983 through to the present day along with annual service records that meticulously document the car’s extensive history. The indicated mileage is lower as the speedometer was replaced at 66,800 mile in 2003 due to a fault with the original. The total distance covered is now 80,770 miles that we can warrant as being correct based on the extensive annual service history. , This is truly an outstanding example of a much-loved classic offering a rare opportunity for its next owner to continue its cherished legacy.
