With us here at RFH Classics we have this charming early Split Screen 1953 Morris Minor MM High Light 4 Dr finished in Almond Green with contrasting Green trim. This delightful car comes to us from long term previous ownership and has had just 3 formers owners from new. Some refer to this as Series 1 however we refer to it as a MM Highlight, obviously referring to the headlight position being in the wing and not down in the grille. It would seem this is would probably have been one of the last produced before the Series II model was introduced in 1952, with both models running together initially. , The bodywork on this very British classic is in lovely order and clearly it has been very well cared for by the previous owners. It certainly appears to have been restored but we do not have any records to confirm this. The interior is a delight with some age related patina to the seats that go towards making the car feel very authentic and the wonderfully stylish two tone dash, a feature of the early cars, greets you as you sit in the car. This shows little wear and features the chrome centre grille, a predominate feature of this interior, and houses the cars gauges and speedo, all of which appear to be working well. Just under the driver’s side edge of the dash you will find the two way switch which operates the semaphore indicators that still pop out when operated. , Under the bonnet the original 918cc engine, notorious for issues has been replaced with the more reliable 4 cylinder 948cc which with the pull of the starter, knob fires into life and runs lovely. The engine is paired to a 4 speed manual gearbox which together males for a much more drivable Morris Minor. Under the bonnet the engine bay presents very well with the paintwork matching the high standard of the exterior finish. , In the office we have some history for the car including various old style log books for the car and if you are in the market for a lovely British classic then this one has to be a serious contender.
