Just arrived with us here at RFH Classics we have this ultra rare 1987 (E) Opel Manta 1.8 Berlinetta Hatch finished in Gloss Black with Grey Cloth Trim. Well what a lovely example this is and when did you last see a Berlinetta on the road let alone one that is as clean as this is. The Gloss Black exterior has a lustrously deep shine to all the panels and still bears all the original decals as would have been fitted from new. A glance down either side of the car highlights the excellent panel gap and shows the panels to be unmarked for dents of knocks. Cast your view up to the roof and you will find a manual opening sunroof which we have tested and is watertight and when open makes the cabin feel light and airy. The Alloy wheels are again unmarked and all wear matching Yokohama tyres with excellent tread. It is great to see the supplying dealer plates are still fitted showing the that car was originally sold through Warners Vauxhall-Opel-Bedford dealers in Bristol and confirmed by the original rear window sticker still fitted today, which incidentally you never see dealers fit these now. , Inside the car the Grey cloth trim is virtually unmarked bar a small amount of wear to the bolster of the drivers seat which we are currently trying to source a fix for. The rest of the interior trim is in exceptional condition and a credit to the former owners who have clearly looked after this beautiful car. Under the bonnet sits the 1800cc 4 cylinder petrol engine that is paired to a 5 speed manual gearbox. A quick turn of the key fires this into life and the engine runs very smoothly. In the office we have a substantial history file for the car which indicates the early ownership of the car was maintained by the first owner all the way through til 2017. The file contains an unbelievable amount of invoices, old MOT tests, extended warranty details and other paperwork confirming the cars mileage to be correct.
