This British sports car has only had 3 owners and has just undergone a major service at our local TVR Specialist including rectification of oil leaks and the rewaxoiling of the chassis. The car has been very well maintained over the years with invoices to confirm regular chassis inspections, a known weakness of TVR. In addition the beautiful interior has just been stripped and fully refurbished resulting in an interior that is equally as well presented as the exterior. , The Chimera was first introduced in 1992 and ran until 2003 with the name being derived from a monstrous creature of Greek mythology, perhaps were that truly distinctive exhaust roar was conceived ! The Chimera, built as a long distance tourer, was the sister car of the Griffith with the Chimera being the slightly larger of the two. The 4.5 litre engine fitted to this car was added to the range in 1997, originally due to be the AJP8 V8 engine however with it not being ready a bored version of the Rover V8 was used and is still recognised as one of the most desirable in the model range. The 450 V8 fitted to this example is in great condition and fires up at the first turn of the key resulting in a growl that is guaranteed to bring a smile to any face.
