Volkswagen say the new chassis, suspension and steering have been optimised to work in conjunction with the 4Motion all-wheel drive system for improved driving dynamics. 4Motion is powered by an ?R-Performance Torque Vectoring? system that distributes torque to the four wheels for optimal driving dynamics while a rear drive distributes the power between the front and rear axles. These systems work in tandem, controlled by the Vehicle Dynamics Manager (VDM) which also controls electronic differential locks (XDS) and adaptive chassis control DCC to offer optimal traction and improved driving precision.
