Ref: W62WCW SMC Heritage are proud to present the Z3 M Coupe is one of the most unique and focussed driving machines to come out of BMW stable since the E30 M3. Background: Produced from 1998 to 2002 the Z3 M Coupe was developed under the leadership of engineer Burkhard Göschel with the intention of adding increased torsional and structural rigidity to the Z3 roadster's chassis. The development team had a hard time convincing the Board of Directors to approve the model for production, but it was eventually given the green light. Using the Z3M roadster as its base, the car utilised many of the same parts but was a more serious contender with vastly improved torsional stiffness for an improved handling experience. Until 2001 the Z3M had the running gear from the E36 BMW M3 with the S50 3.2ltr 6 cylinder engine producing 317BHP from the later cars utilising the S54 3.2 from the E46 M3 with 321 BHP. Since production ceased, its reputation has grown as has its status as a modern classic amongst petrol-heads. This coupled with the vehicle’s scarcity has lead to them becoming a cast iron investment in recent years With just 821 RHD cars reportedly sold in the UK and with only around half still registered with the DVLA makes this a rare sight on the roads today. Provenance: The car has been in the same family ownership since 2002 and has a full service history, mainly BMW until recently, the current mileage is 95,000. Along with the already generous specification, additional features include an electric glass sunroof, heated seats, cruise control and the BMW radio cassette has a 6 disc CD changer in the boot. Exterior: Prior to going on sale the car has undergone a sympathetic restoration to its former glory. We stripped down the car and replaced or repaired any items of concern before fully respraying the car in the original Estoril Blue. The paint finish is sublime, this has to be the best example currently on the market. The brakes were stripped, fully overhauled and painted, as to the where the wheels which were fully restored, powder coated and finished in Shadowline Silver - the tyres were replaced with matching Michelin Pilot Sports, having covered just a few miles since the works were carried out they are still as new. T Interior: he interior we left untouched other than normal detailing. The carpets have genuine factory over mats and the seats are still in great order with only slight wear to the drivers bolster which is normal with leather being a natural material. With the car are two leather packs with the original handbooks and stamped up service book, a large file full of repair invoices, 16 MOT certificates, numerous old tax discs and the spare key. Also present is the tool kit, tyre repair kit and the un opened first aid kit.
